The Amazon Kindle is one of the original eReaders that has been around since 2007. When the first Kindle was launched, it was met with an equal amount of excitement and horror. Many people were excited at the possibility of being able to protect their devices with Amazon Kindle cases and subsequently take hundreds of digital copies of their favorite books along with them and read as they traveled on the bus, rested on the beach, relaxed in their bedroom or did anything else.
The excitement of these people was matched only by the dread expressed by others. Print purists claimed that the release of the Amazon Kindle would be the death of print and that writers would no longer interact with the world as much, thus leading to inferior writing. After only a few years on the market, the world seems to largely be embracing eReaders like the Amazon Kindle, although there are certainly still many people who are not excited by the prospect of holding a device rather than a hardbound book or a glossy magazine.
Since the original Amazon Kindle was released, Amazon has improved the functionality and design of these devices. As these changes have been made, Cases.com has been responsive at providing Amazon Kindle cases that fit all different versions of the Kindle. Some of the types of Kindle include:
Original Amazon Kindle
The original Amazon Kindle features a 6-inch frame. This makes the device small enough to carry in your pocket, so there is no need to worry about lugging around a bulky item. The device is ultra-slim – about the width of a pencil standing vertically. One of the main attractions to the original Kindle is its price of under $100. Of course, because you have paid a fair amount for your Kindle and because the books on it are invaluable, it is important to protect it with one of the Amazon Kindle cases on Cases.com.
Amazon Kindle Touch
One of the frustrations with the original Amazon Kindle is that it does not let users navigate while using a touch screen. Amazon alleviated these concerns when it released the Kindle Touch, which features a multi-touch display. It also improved upon the original Kindle by becoming 8 percent lighter and 11 percent smaller. The Amazon Kindle Touch holds up to 3,000 books and a Wi-Fi connection that allows you to download books anywhere where there is a Wi-Fi connection in less than 60 seconds. The Kindle Touch 3G is similar, but the 3G connection allows you to download books wherever you are at. Because these devices are slightly more expensive than the original, it is especially important to protect them with Amazon Kindle cases.
Amazon Kindle Fire
With the Amazon Kindle Fire, Amazon has branched out from simply providing an eReader and now instead provides a mobile device that allows users to have multimedia experiences each time they use the device. Users can choose from more than 18 million books, movies, TV shows and magazines. The device has access to Web applications such as Netflix, Hulu Plus and Pandora. It also features lightning quick Web browsing. The Amazon Kindle Fire has opened a new era for the Kindle brand. Because purchasing these devices requires a financial commitment, you should certainly protect your investment with one of the Amazon Kindle cases from Cases.com.
