Apple’s slogan when it first released the iPhone in 2007 was “This changes everything.” Apple was absolutely right. The iPhone has become the must-have phone for people around the world. Other phones – such as Blackberries and Droids – seem to constantly be playing keep-up to compete with the iPhone.
Apple has made a number of changes to the design and the functionality of the iPhone since its first iteration. Whereas the original iPhone 3G featured more of a rounded shape, the newer iPhones—including the 4S—feature a box-like shape that allows users to stand the phones up horizontally or vertically. Because iPhone shapes are different, the iPhone cases you buy to protect your phones will vary as well.
iPhone 3G Cases
Apple no longer produces and sells the original iPhone 3G, but those who have taken care of their phones with quality cases very well may still own an iPhone 3G that is in good shape. The original iPhone introduced the word to apps, which are downloadable programs that include games, work-related items, travel helps, photo-editing assistance and much more. Apps continue to be a large part of any iPhone experience.
Thanks to the glass screens on iPhones that are prone to cracking and chipping if the device is dropped, it is unlikely that any original iPhone 3G could have lasted this long without a case. We feature dozens of iPhone cases, many that are made from handcrafted leather that feature removable belt loops and magnetic closure systems.
iPhone 3GS Cases
Apple released the iPhone 3GS in 2009. Although the 3GS looks identical to the original iPhone 3G, there are important internal differences. The 3GS features a faster operating system, meaning that users could browse the Web and load apps more quickly. It also includes a video camera—something iPhone 3G users had been hoping for.
For those who want iPhone cases that are functional – but not formal – we offer dozens of form-fitting 3G cases made with silicone skin that tightly wrap up your iPhone 3GS to protect it from drops and bumps.
iPhone 4 Cases
Apple released the iPhone 4 in June 2010. One of the most-obvious differences between the iPhone 4 and earlier versions of the phone was its design. The iPhone 4 was lighter and thinner than previous versions of the phone. It also included new features, most notably FaceTime. FaceTime allowed iPhone 4 users on Wi-Fi networks to connect video calls to each other from around the world.
Despite the advancements, iPhone 4 owners faced the same challenges with fragile screens that previous iPhone owners faced as well. Cases.com features dozens of iPhone cases that are custom-made for the iPhone 4. If you are looking for a fun, yet classy case, consider our snap-closure, handcrafted leather cases that come in a variety of colors.
iPhone 4S Cases
The iPhone 4S features an exterior design similar to the iPhone 4. When Apple announced the iPhone 4S in October 2011, some were disappointed that Apple had not yet introduced the iPhone 5. However, the speed of the iPhone 4S, along with its new operating system – iOS5 – and personal assistant Siri, has made it different enough from the iPhone 4 to make users want to have one.
Cases.com features several iPhone cases that will fit your iPhone 4S, including black leather pouches, leather wallets of a variety of colors and form-fitting silicon grip cases.
