I specifically wanted a clear case, so as to be able to somewhat see the attractive phone. I slapped it into a Zagg/Gear4 Piccadilly, which was my one choice in the store, but began looking for something else, as I heard there were new MagSafe cases and accessories for non iPhones. Coming from a one and a half year switch to iPhone, this was one feature I knew I was going to miss.
I found this case, but no reviews yet and having used UAG in the past, I was pretty sure it would be a safe choice. Only thing I was unsure of was the only magnet being in the case and it would not be a booster for one built into the phone, such as iPhone. I received the case and liked it much better than the short term Piccadilly. It is all clear, having no border colors, other than the necessary magnet. The case has a nice grip, which is not grooved, but has a softer/tackier feeling around the sides. There is more of a raised edge to protect the screen and the camera surround. But not so much as to hinder the use of the screen. The buttons are more pronounced, making them easy to locate and have a clicky feel, but don't require much effort to push them in. Supposed to be drop tested to 16 feet. I can't speak to that, as I have not and hopefully do not need verify the drop protection. Now, about that MagSafe feature... So far, so good. The 3-in-1 charging station I have is pretty much the same. The charger's built in magnet is pretty worthless, so the phone just sits there and doesn't take a lot to bump it loose. Just like when I had the iPhone. My ESR car mount works like a champ. Also just like with my old iPhone. ESR mounts have a good magnet, which work great with this case and you feel a positive click and the hold is good. Now, if this thing doesn't yellow, which seems to be the problem with a lot of clear and not so clear cases. As of right now, I would buy it again. And Cases.com was very quick on my processing, shipping and good price and selection. No complaints here.
